Brass Compression Fittings are better suited to some applications than the standard stainless steel fitting. For example, brass and stainless steel both resist corrosion, but they react differently to various corrosive agents. Brass compression fittings also offer much better thermal conductivity and will retain positional accuracy when cooling unlike stainless steel wich can “lock” a compression fitting into place. Brass Compression fittings are excellent for hot and cold water industrial and residential systems and are suitable for use in some marine environments as it develops a protective green patina. Brass can resist corrosion in nonoxidizing acids but oxidising acids should be avoided and it also provided excellent corrosion resistance to petroleum products.
D&N Engineering supplies carry a wide range of Brass compression Fittings and all of these can be ordered quickly on our online store. If you would like more information on what compression fitting is more suited to your application feel free to contact one of our sales team on the contacts page.
